Very enjoyable, thanks The Realizer.
I'm most of the way there for week 2. Some nice ones in there.

To riff on the theme... No prizes, but first to TG me the right answer gets an RMB mention.

A very Happy early Easter this year to everyone!

And I hope everyone has a wonderful spring season. I know my area of the world has been particularly nice this year, and I hope everyone else is having a similar experience.

I’m not sure about y’all, but I always get rather nostalgic around this time of year—this year especially so because I’m fortunate to have a busy & exciting summer & fall ahead! So I hope everyone takes time this year to remember some of their better spring memories and enjoy the weather with loved ones.

Howdy y'all!

Happy Easter to everyone in Forest! :-)

Congratulations to Atsvea, Furilisca, Kannap and Almonaster Nuevo (Canada) for scoring full marks in Week 1 of The Realizer's Forest Trivia Competition! :-)

🐰🐣 Happy Easter and Happy Transgender Day of Visibility, Forest! 🏳️‍⚧️🦄

I hope everyone has a great day today!

Happy 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️Trans visibility day🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️! The only important thing on today. Nothing else. No other important holidays. hehe :3

Well that's a curious overlap in holidays... ;P

Thanks to someone gifting me a copy of my S3 card, I've come to a realization. I've just barely dropped out of the top 200 worldwide (#201) and the top 3 in Forest (#4).

I've gotta step up my game... maybe start a S2 issue authors collection...
or maybe it'd be easier to just accept my fate instead >_>

It was a pleasure playing Split or steal with you btw... Was tempted to steal but then I found out who I was against, lol.

S2 issues authors will be a challenge, not impossible though... Valoptia still managed to do a s1 leg collection whilst in s3... Don't accept your fate though...

Have a great day...

Road to Improvement: Columbiqash Paves the Way for Nationwide Infrastructure Upgrade

In a sweeping response to the clamor of local motorists and widespread public dissatisfaction, the Columbiqash government has announced an ambitious initiative to overhaul the nation's beleaguered road network. The project, which is set to commence immediately, aims to address the myriad of issues plaguing Columbiqash's roads, including severe potholes, cracks, and other structural damages that have long endangered motorists and pedestrians alike.

The decision to revamp the country's roadways was catalyzed by vocal protests led by concerned citizens, spotlighting the urgent need for infrastructural rejuvenation. The government's plan not only focuses on repairing the current disrepair but also on upgrading the overall quality of road infrastructure to forestall future deterioration. This preventative approach ensures that Columbiqash's roads will be safer, smoother, and more reliable for all forms of travel.

Karma Poindexter, president of the Columbiqash Auto Club and a prominent figure in the recent protests, hailed the initiative as a "much-needed step towards ensuring the safety and efficiency of our transportation systems." According to Poindexter, the persistent neglect of road maintenance has culminated in hazardous driving conditions, underscoring the critical necessity for comprehensive governmental action.

As part of the road reconstruction initiative, the government has committed to deploying round-the-clock construction crews across the nation. This extensive workforce is tasked with not just the restoration of the current roadways but also with their substantial improvement to meet modern standards of safety and durability.

While the project has garnered substantial support from the public and stakeholders alike, it also faces challenges, including the logistical complexities of executing such a large-scale operation and ensuring minimal disruption to daily commutes. Nevertheless, officials remain optimistic, viewing the endeavor as a pivotal investment in Columbiqash's future.

"The state of our roads is more than a mere inconvenience; it's a matter of public safety," noted Elaine Wickremesinghe, a vocal critic of wasteful government spending who has nonetheless expressed backing for this particular project. "The comprehensive overhaul of our roadways is not only about improving our daily commutes but about laying down the foundation for a more connected and prosperous Columbiqash."

As construction is set to begin, the eyes of the nation are fixed on what many hope will be a transformational journey towards better infrastructure and a testament to the government's commitment to the welfare and safety of its citizens.

Columbiqash Sky Guardians: Retrofitting the Old for Aerial Supremacy

In a decisive move to bolster national defense, the Columbiqashian government has announced a significant upgrade to its air force fleet. Facing concerns over the ageing FK-2 Bigfoot fighter jets, which have been the backbone of Columbiqashian air superiority for decades, the administration has chosen an innovative path forward. Air Force Marshall Nomfundo Harman spearheaded the initiative, advocating for modernization rather than replacement or outsourcing.

The FK-2 Bigfoot, a symbol of Columbiqashian might, will undergo extensive upgrades, including the integration of cutting-edge missile systems. This ambitious retrofitting program aims to blend the aircraft's storied history with the latest in military technology, ensuring the jets remain a formidable force in the skies.

"Preserving our heritage while embracing the future is crucial," stated Marshall Harman at a press briefing. "By investing in local industries to upgrade our fleet, we not only enhance our defensive capabilities but also support Columbiqashian jobs and innovation."

The decision has been met with widespread support from the public and military experts alike, who praise the government's commitment to self-reliance and technological advancement. Critics, however, caution against the potential costs and logistical challenges of such a comprehensive overhaul.

As Columbiqash enters a new era of aerial defense, the eyes of the nation—and potential adversaries—will undoubtedly be fixed on the skies, watching the reborn Bigfoots as they patrol the heavens, a testament to Columbiqashian ingenuity and determination.

Columbiqash Opens Its Heart: Leading the Charge in Global Humanitarian Efforts

In a bold demonstration of global leadership and compassion, Columbiqash has committed to significantly expanding its foreign humanitarian aid program. Responding to international calls for assistance to the world's less fortunate nations, the government has unveiled a comprehensive plan to provide increased support to those in need.

Local peace activist Barbara Ricardo championed the cause, emphasizing Columbiqash's fortunate position and its moral obligation to assist its global neighbors. "It's about more than just footprints; it's about extending a hand of friendship and solidarity to those who need it most," Ricardo stated, reflecting the national sentiment.

While critics, such as Think Tank member Frasier Zelensky, argue against the efficacy of such aid, citing concerns over dependency, the overwhelming public and governmental response has been one of unequivocal support. The initiative is not seen as merely a charitable donation but as an investment in global stability and prosperity.

Government advisor Leilani Erso highlighted the strategic benefits of the program, suggesting that humanitarian aid can also foster stronger international relationships and open new markets for Columbiqashian technology and innovation.

As Columbiqash embarks on this ambitious journey to elevate its humanitarian contributions, it cements its status as a beacon of hope and generosity on the world stage. The nation's commitment to alleviating global poverty and supporting development in impoverished regions underscores its unwavering dedication to making the world a better place for all.

Columbiqash to Host the Frontier of Discovery: The Construction of the World’s Largest Particle Accelerator Begins

In an ambitious leap toward scientific leadership, Columbiqash has officially broken ground on what is set to be the globe's most extensive and advanced particle accelerator, the Really Big Hadron Collider. This groundbreaking project, led by esteemed Professor Higgs Boughson from the Engineering Department at Bluff Creek University, signifies a monumental investment in the future of science and humanity.

The government's decision to allocate significant funding towards this colossal scientific endeavor has sparked a national debate surrounding the implications of such an investment. Critics have voiced concerns ranging from the potential creation of microscopic black holes to questioning the practicality of the research conducted within its circular chambers. However, the scientific community and a considerable portion of the public have rallied in support of the initiative, highlighting its potential to unravel mysteries of the universe that have perplexed humanity for centuries.

The Collider, destined to span hundreds of kilometers beneath the serene landscapes of Columbiqash, promises to push the boundaries of our understanding of physics. It will allow scientists to simulate conditions fractions of a second after the Big Bang, offering insights into fundamental particles and forces that govern our universe. "We're on the cusp of discoveries that could change our understanding of the world," Professor Boughson stated, addressing the potential of the Collider to challenge existing theories and pave the way for new technological advancements.

Safety concerns have been meticulously addressed, with experts pointing out the Collider's design incorporates the latest in safety protocols and technology, ensuring the experiments pose no risk to the planet. Meanwhile, detractors have been assured that the potential for groundbreaking discoveries outweighs the remote risks associated with the Collider's operation.

As Columbiqash embarks on this remarkable scientific journey, the international community watches with bated breath. The Really Big Hadron Collider is not just a testament to Columbiqash's commitment to advancing human knowledge but also serves as a beacon of hope for the potential of science to address the most profound questions of existence. With construction underway, the nation is poised on the edge of a new era of discovery, where the secrets of the cosmos are within reach, promising to unlock the universe's mysteries one particle at a time.

Not to poach your fun or come across as a hard-boiled softie but maybe lay off the yolks a little? Albumen can think of are glairingly rotten eggsamples one could smell from a mile away. I'm sure you'll reach a verduct that it's really just devilishly bad taste to put all your eggs in one basket like this. But you're free ta turn yourself around, chick yourself in the mirror, and if you give a crêpe you can probably whip yourself into shape and hatch a few good ones that'll actually give you a run for your money.

Whisking you happy hollandaise, as it were in the benedictive grammatical mood.

Honestly, the Trans flag looks pretty Easter-y. Apparently, the Easter colors are red, white, and gold, but I don't know who decided that. Probably the Catholic church in 1187 AD, before reasonable color theming was invented. I feel like I see pastel shades of blue and pink everywhere on Easter stuff, and rabbits/eggs are white. I'll make sure to donate some glasses to the nearest Trans person to celebrate the most important holiday today.

~ Official Foreign Affairs Post ~

Hello, everyone! Well, it was an extremely close vote, with the percentage of those in favor fluctuating between wildly surpassing and falling short of the 2/3 majority needed to open embassies. In the final hour, the vote PASSED with the required 2/3 majority. In fact, it was exactly a 2/3 majority, with 12 votes Against and 24 votes For. Could that be a new record for closest embassy vote? I'd have to check.

As such, in accordance with Article 6.3 of our constitution, I have accepted the embassy request from Sol Aeternalis, and we will have mutual regional message board access in 3 days during tomorrow's minor update. I look forward to our relationship going forward! 🤝💚

#BLubBluB

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
That's certainly not all from the Foreign Affairs side of things! We actually have a couple of other parties interested in creating embassies with us. We are still managing exactly when we'll bring their embassies to vote, since I really don't want to flood the RMB with an overabundance of government posts, let alone Foreign Affairs FA-specific posts. But, as par our constitution, since we've received formal requests and the criteria have been met, we indeed will be holding a vote for each interested party in due time.
I believe much of this influx has to do with the fact that I've reopened our gameplay forum embassy, to which I've announced (along with my ambassadors on almost every region's RMB and/or discord) The Realizer's weekly trivia as well as the chess tournament Forest is co-hosting with The Region That Has No Big Banks (truth be told NUCL's doing all the work we're just allowed to invite everyone xD). I've also created a "Bulletin Gourd" (I hope the name's not too cheesy) on the front page to allow for quick links to major news while we wait for a proper newspaper to come out - to which I'll also provide links for on the bulletin gourd should we get to that point.
I also remind everyone that if they are interested in creating an embassy elsewhere, OR wish to close an existing embassy with a region, our constitution provides a means for you to call for a creation or closure, at which point we'd wait to see if there were significant interest from the rest of the community, and that all requirements are met, and proceed to work from there. (I kindly ask you not to spam requests for the closure of all embassies / opening embassies everywhere. Not even for my sake, just everyone else's ;P)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Since I'm trying to get all of the FA things I want to announce done in one post (at least until I make the announcement for the next embassy poll), I would like to announce that the Ambassador program is going rather well!

Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to figure out how exactly I'm going to take over Prusmia's ambassador/embassy policy dispatches (I know, rich given my desperation for a new master dispatch), and thus far all of my official appointments have been penciled onto my unofficial embassies/ambassadors dispatch. I fully intend to make it "official" if everyone is alright with it, as Zerphen has also expressed interest in it, but I need to clarify a few things such as a couple of ambassadors and non-embassorial relationships before I share it around as anything other than a personal project. As such, if she's up for updating the ambassador list, I'd be much obliged, but all is well if she'd rather wait until I have my own dispatches set up - I intend to do this before my next FA post ;P

Our new ambassadors include:
- Texas Jaguarundi (i.e. Yip Man), who will be serving as both ambassador to and from Texas, taking the position once held by Northern Wood
- Gelezia, who will also be serving to and from Alcris
- Roless, who will no longer be serving as ambassador to Spiritus and instead as ambassador to The Leftist Assembly
- Furilisca, who in addition to Canada will now be serving as our ambassador to the Democratic Socialist Assembly
- Feline Masters, who will now be serving as ambassador to The Bar on the Corner of Every Region alongside Isbjorn Maerenne Bava Paerani as incoming ambassador
- LontraNutria/Ottterland, who will be serving as ambassador to Europe alongside incoming ambassador Nardin
- Newquay rainforest/Montrandec, who will be our ambassador to The Rejected Realms as well as be looking at several of our other embassies
- and Jutsa (yes, myself xD), who will be serving as temporary fill-in ambassador to every region that doesn't have one (for the time being*) as well as self-appointed (yes xD) ambassador to, in addition to International Democratic Union, the regions of Portugal and Oatland (and considering maybe a few others). These positions, however, are entirely fill-able if anyone else wants these positions; I will gladly hang out with these regions and more on my own ;)

(apologies in advance if I forgot anyone.)

I am still waiting for a response to whether two individuals would like to remain as ambassadors, but everyone else has opted to remain in their position :) One individual I wasn't sure about was Murmuria, who is the current listed ambassador to The Rejected Realms. Given both of them have busy schedules, and how large and casual TRR is, I figured, bah, worst case scenario I've got two ambassadors there and other case scenario I've got one. Honestly as long as someone's available for me to prod ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
FINALLY, on THAT note, I'd like to close by announcing that we do still have ambassador positions available! These positions will have most of the tasks as designated in Prusmia's current ambassador dispatch, but in practice? It's basically just me putting your name on a list. xD Genuinely, you and everyone else may do as you please as an individual wherever, and you certainly may have fun wherever and share news wherever you dang well please.
The only differences are that:
1) I know who to bug if I want to share information or invitations (to which, I will gladly share information myself or just not disseminate at all, depending on the circumstances - I'm flexible to work around with. Not that there will be much happening at all lol) or go to in the event something crazy happens in that region (though, I'd probably reach out to incoming ambassadors as well),
2) My successor will know who to bug for the same things / whatever else they do, if they bother at all,
3) Folks from both our regions have a name to reach out to if they want to ask about something (though lets be real they'll probably tg a RO or ask in the RMB anyway), and
4) you're now my responsibility if you act like a big dumbo.
tl;dr only thing that changes is you get mentioned in a list and become a pain in the neck for me xD
If THAT sounds like something YOU would be interested in, feel free to reach out to me via telegram or through discord! (or post in the RMB if you're feeling daring for some reason lol.) Regions that are available include Libertarian Socialist Confederation, The Union of Democratic States, Wintreath, Conch Kingdom, Spiritus, 10000 Islands, and The South Pacific, Union of Free Nations, Antarctic Oasis, Winterfell, Yggdrasil, Hippy Haven and Eladen, many of which are smaller regions who may not want to be disturbed much anyway lol. You're also welcome to replace me as ambassador to International Democratic Union, Portugal and/or Oatland if you really like those regions :) (I might be looking at a couple others myself but feel free to take them too ;p)
In addition, I'm also willing to take on a "second hands" if anyone feels like being a temporary "lead ambassador" who would essentially just help me post major updates in a bunch of different regions, without necessarily spending much time there. I really don't think this is a necessity, but hey, if you feel like helping me with the workload I put onto myself, you're more than welcome to ;P (It does not come with additional perks aside from getting a special place on a dispatch somewhere and being an even bigger pain in my hair.)
That should be all for now! Will be having more announcements in due time, and like I said I've got another embassy request poll to roll out in a couple days once we get everything squared away, but that's frankly a lot to take in as it is! Look forward to the next one, and uh, let me know if these get on your nerves xD
(Also this is not an April Fools joke. Unlike me, who is now running late on things because it took me way longer to hash this post out than it should have... procrastination on everything is a pain in the bum in' it)
Here's a joke for April fools day. I used to not like mushrooms, but ever since I tried them recently, they've really been growing on me.
-Removed Spencargamen
-edit:also added Vantser
NEW WORLD
-Removed Cygwing due to leaving the region.
EXTRA STUFF
-font now slightly more whimsical
-Created a full map. Forestian explorers and mathematicians have been hard at work working out exactly what the world looks like, and how big it is. There’s still plenty to discover in future though…
For now, claims are still limited to the continental and oceanic maps, but at some point I will open up more areas.
I will probably reveal some new land each update, Though I could reveal more now if people want.
Maesvar:This swampy subregion is so ancient, some of it's trees are said to be older than humanity itself. It is home to the Errinundera regional reserve and bathed by the Devdan Ocean, both homages to Forest's founders.
Andorœchord:A northern and icy subregion, which is the most densely populated in forest both in terms of nations and in terms of mountains.
Abeshaast and Greater Belevia:Previously two separate subregions, now fused into one. The Belevic Ocean connects Continental and Oceanic Forest.
Hyarlaurilosse:The warmest subregion in Continental Forest, and the southernmost if islands aren't considered. This subregion is notable for it's charming abundance of goldflowers.
Mosak Pulgorinzei:Sometimes referred to as Middle Forest, this subregion contains the largest sea in Continental Forest: the Carnation Sea.
Oceanic Forest subregions
Tyanet:The only subregion in Oceanic Forest which doesn't contain any islands, and the only one connected by land to Continental Forest.
The Puloanyar:Home to several archipelagos and a diversity of societies and cultures, as well as a number of plants and animals completely extinct elsewhere.
West Pangamotu:The bigger continent in Oceanic Forest, largely covered by tropical rainforest. It is separated from East Pangamotu by the largest sea in the entire region, the Kakamotu sea.
East Pangamotu:A continent of varied climates, flora and fauna, going from moist jungles to cloud forests to arid deserts.
Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get on the map?
Well, it's not very complicated, the only requirement is your nation must have been in Forest for at least 12 days. If you fit the requirement, just telegram Roless! It does help a lot if you have a picture of your map, even if it's just a doodle on a napkin, but you don't need an image or even a defined shape (I can make one for you if you want). There is, however, an application that you should fill out in your telegram:
Nation Name: Especially relevant if you want your name on the map to be different from your username
Location: In which part of which map. Ex: "north of X nation", "southeast of the Oceanic Map", etc. Currently, nations can only claim in areas covered by the continental and oceanic maps.
Size and Shape:This is where an image would come in handy, even if it's just a sketch. Note, however, that I might lightly alter the coastline of your nation to better fit the map's artstyle.
Cities and Notable Features:Particularly: Where is the capital? It's also relevant to inform things like where the mountains are, how many (if any) are there, what the bodies of water are, where are non-capital big cities located, etc...
Can I change my nation once it's on the map?
Yep! Let me know what changes you want, and they will be added in the next map update, unless they affect other nations too, in which case you should check with them first.
When Is the map updated?
The map should be updated around the first of every month, but keep in mind that if your map request is sent just before then, i may roll it over to the next map update.
Do nations get removed from the map?
If a nation has been cte'd for over 90 days, then it could be removed. I am quite lenient about this, but be aware that your nation might be removed if it is over 90 days cte'd.
Very nice! Seeing the whole thing now, I do find it rather amusing that Calenmor is where it is as it was originally intended to be situated similarly to the Black & Aegean seas location in the real world. Not asking for a change, I just find it amusing. Perhaps we've only seen the equivalent of a large chunk of Eurasia?
