The Commonwealth of Idunn is a colossal, cultured nation, ruled by Lord Deos with a fair hand, and notable for its keen interest in outer space, frequent executions, and stringent health and safety legislation. The compassionate, democratic population of 3.072 billion Idunnians are free to do what they want with their own bodies, and vote for whomever they like in elections; if they go into business, however, they are regulated to within an inch of their lives.

The large government juggles the competing demands of Education, Administration, and Environment. It meets to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Monhebon. The average income tax rate is 90.1%, and even higher for the wealthy.

The frighteningly efficient Idunnian economy, worth 420 trillion Credits a year, is dominated by the Information Technology industry, with significant contributions from Beef-Based Agriculture, Book Publishing, and Tourism. State-owned companies are reasonably common. Average income is an impressive 136,894 Credits, and distributed extremely evenly, with little difference between the richest and poorest citizens.

Maxtopian tourists make expensive pilgrimages to Monhebon to enjoy their national art, the death penalty has been reintroduced, space has been brought down to earth with constellations of cancer cases across Idunn, and emergency responders spend more time in the air than giving air. Crime, especially youth-related, is totally unknown, thanks to a capable police force and progressive social policies in education and welfare. Idunn's national animal is the Bear, which is also the nation's favorite main course.

Idunn is ranked 226,793rd in the world and 2,559th in the South Pacific for Largest Manufacturing Sector, scoring 4,786.93 on the Gooback-Jerbs Productivity Index.
